Daily Show correspondent Aasif Mandvi will host the IFP’s 18th annual Gotham Independent Film Awards.

The Dec. 2 ceremony will also feature several star presenters, including Amy Adams, Marisa Tomei, Ethan Hawke, Patricia Clarkson, Mira Nair, Richard Jenkins, and Melissa Leo.

“Aasif is wildly funny, and now with his upcoming debut as writer, star and producer of 7 to the Palace, he’s an indie filmmaker,” said IFP executive director Michelle Byrd. “We couldn’t think of a better person to host this year’s show.”

More presenters will be announced for the New York City event in the coming weeks.
