Anand Tucker (Shopgirl) will direct romantic comedy Leap Year, starring Amy Adams. Spyglass Entertainment and Benderspink produce.
Production’s set to start lensing in March in Ireland. Spyglass’ Gary Barber, Roger Birnbaum and Jonathan Glickman are producing with Benderspink’s Chris Bender and JC Spink.
The script by Harry Elfont and Deb Kaplan (Made of Honor) centers on a woman who travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on leap day, Feb. 29, as part of an Irish tradition in which a man receiving a marriage proposal on that day has to say yes.
Benderspink’s Jake Weiner is exec producing.

Earlier this past week, whilst doing some promotion for Doubt, Amy recorded a three minute interview at a press junket for the film. She looked stunning in a purple top with her hair down. I absolutely love hearing Amy speak about her projects, she always sounds so passionate so this is a treat and hopefully more relating to Doubt are coming soon as the movie nears. I’ve uploaded the video to Youtube and it can viewed after the cut. I’ve added screencaptures to the gallery.

Here’s what Amy had to say about all the buzz surrounding the film at the Doubt Los Angeles premiere:
I am excited that Philip is so excited for the Oscar buzz. I really respect his opinion. If I wasn’t in the film and I didn’t know how good it was, I would go see Doubt based on Philip’s recommendation. I agree that John deserves recognition. I think the script is brilliant. It is a very good adaptation and his direction isn’t too shabby either. And I can’t say enough good things about Viola and Meryl and Philip. They are all tremendous. And if everyone else gets recognized and I didn’t, I would still be thrilled. It is a team mentality. It is mostly the four of us on screen and we got to watch each other work up close and personal. You never go in with expectations of awards, although at this point maybe Meryl could with her 14 nominations, but when I watch the film, I am blown away by their performances. If those accolades come, fantastic. If they don’t, it doesn’t take anything away in my eyes.

USAToday brings us the very first still from Night at the Museum 2. The film releases in May 22, 2009.
Amelia Earheart comes alive in the form of Amy Adams. Here, she’s next to the full-scale replica of the Lockheed Vega plane in which Earheart made her trans-Atlantic solo flight.
The Airplane and several others, including the Wrights Brothers’ Flyer were built from scratch for the film.
“The sequel introduces a new element of romantic comedy,” Levy says. “Stiller’s night guard and Adams famed pilot spark to each other on the course of their adventure.”

As earlier reported, the Doubt Los Angeles Premiere was held last night and, of course, our girl was in attendance, looking absolutely gorgeous on the red carpet in an ultra-feminine nude dress by J. Mendel. The ruched strapless dress, covered in bows, was a unique twist on the classic cocktail look, and the color was a compliment to Amy’s gorgeous locks. The actress managed to mix things up, pairing the ladylike dress with edgy accessories. Her Christian Louboutin peep-toes and red python clutch by VBH spiced up the neutral look and upped the glam factor. 35 HQs are available for your viewing pleasure; more will, no doubt, be added at a later date.

Before it was announced which character Amy Adams would play in Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian, we guessed Amelia Earhart, to which she replied, “I’m not going to tell,” with a smile on her face.
Of course, a few days later, our guess was confirmed. And Amy Adams was besides herself with grief and remorse, for not having given us the scoop first. Or not. “I know, I know,” she apologized when we reconvened for a night at the Museum of the Moving Image, for a tribute to Ben Stiller. “I just wanted to be respectful of the production.”
So what happens to Amelia Earhart at the Smithsonian, given that the plane she flew on her non-stop solo flight across the Atlantic is part of the exhibit? This time, Adams didn’t mind dishing a bit: “She gets to fly again.”
Adams said she had a a blast on set, mostly because she had trouble keeping her focus since Stiller and Bill Hader did impressions of Museum director Shawn Levy to keep people laughing. But overall, she said, Stiller was “very serious and very professional and very about making the work the best it can be.”
