The Danish American Chamber of Commerce Georgia has named Amy Adams its second annual Danish-American actress of the year.

The award, which is given to American actresses with Danish ancestry, last year went to Scarlett Johansson, the daughter of an American mother and a Danish-born father.

Amy was born on a U.S. military base Italy to American parents and grew up in Colorado, according to IMDB.com. She has Danish heritage on her mother’s side. She accepted the award with a statement to the Danish Honorary Consulate in Macon, which is headed by honorary consul Christopher Smith, a local attorney.

It is an honor to be recognized by the Danish American Chamber of Commerce with the 2013 Danish American actress of the year award. I am humbled that my work has resonated with the DACC and I’m grateful for their support.
