Finally some good news regarding ‘Get It While You Can‘, the long-in-the-works Janis Joplin biopic with Amy Adams attached to star. The film will begin shooting in the second half of 2015 in Los Angeles and San Francisco and Dallas Buyers Club director Jean-Marc Vallée is in negotiations to helm the picture, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This is the latest development for a biopic that has seen several directors come and go over the years. Lee Daniels boarded the project in 2012; before that, Fernando Meirelles and Catherine Hardwicke were attached as directors. And Renee Zellweger at one point was set to star.
Vallee recently finished making a movie titled Demolition, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Naomi Watts and Chris Cooper. His latest movie, Wild, stars Reese Witherspoon and will come out on December 5th.
