Night at the Museum 2

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian widened its first place lead by grossing $20 million on Saturday, according to box-office estimates. This brings its three-day weekend estimate to $53.5 million. By comparison, the original Night at the Museum opened to a three-day weekend tally of $30.4 million in December 2006, and then showed incredible stamina during the following months. As for Terminator Salvation, the future may be looking bleak. Salvation grossed $14.8 million on Saturday — a small drop from its estimated Friday harvest of $15 million. Nearly all of the movies in the Top 10 saw Friday-to-Saturday boosts of at least 20%, so the fact that Salvation’s numbers are actually dropping is cause for concern. Salvation is on track for a three-day weekend total of $43 million. The last Terminator movie, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, opened to $44 million during Independence Day weekend in 2003. Saturday’s figures are below, and check back here on Monday for a full four-day holiday weekend recap.

1. Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian — $20 mil
2. Terminator Salvation — $14.8 mil
3. Star Trek — $8.4 mil
4. Angels and Demons — $8.1 mil
5. Dance Flick — $3.9 mil

Sunshine Cleaning

Sunshine Cleaning, due for release this month, is currently getting some really positive reviews. Check out these snippets which are particularly praising Amy’s and her co-star’s performances.

From: EW

That’s the silver lining in this emotionally inconsequential dramedy: Truly lovely performances by Adams and Blunt pierce the thoroughly artificial climate. New Zealand-born director Christine Jeffs and screenwriter Megan Holley were lucky to land these two talents when the film went into production back in 2007, just after Blunt broke through in The Devil Wears Prada but long before Adams’ Oscar-nominated turn in Doubt. As blooming Rose, Adams taps into a delicate vein of warmth and humor that makes her every reaction fresh; we may not understand why this arbitrarily thwarted character has settled for so little, but we cheer for Adams in the role. (The actor makes a showstopper moment out of Rose’s attendance at a shallow classmate’s baby shower.) And wielding the attitude of a not-as-tough-as-she-thinks chick, Blunt complements Adams’ honeyed energy with her own irresistible, more deadpan vigor. She’s a great eye-roller.

Articles & Interviews Sunshine Cleaning

Check out this article with Amy where she was interview about Sunshine Cleaning among other things. She also stated that she wants her wedding to be “to be intimate with the big family.”

Some more snippets below:

Q: When was the last time a work of art made you cry?

A: I was at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris and saw the Edgar Degas works that I grew up looking at in books. There was a room full of Degas from different eras. The one of the dancers on stage especially moved me.

Q: Where do you feel most at home and why?

A: Just in my own house. It’s my haven. It’s a place where my friends come and feel very relaxed and where I can run around barefoot and without any makeup and return to my simpler self.

Q: Where do you feel least at home and why?

A: On the red carpet! Ha! I think that’s self-explanatory.
