Entertainment Weekly’s August 29th issue, the fall movie preview (with Harry Potter on the cover) has debuted a new still from Doubt with Amy and Miss Meryl. I think it’s really intriguing and I really love the lighting captured on the ladies faces! In the article it says that advance buzz see’s Viola Davis and Streep geting Oscar nods for the film. I’m confident Amy will also be getting more buzz worthy notice later this year when the film is released on December 12, 2008. But as always, heres to hoping!

I recently had the pleasure of seeing the film - it has been playing in Finland for several weeks now - and I really adored it. I would warmly recommend for all of Amy’s fans to check out this fun little film.

Streep, whose first all-out musical, Mamma Mia!, opened July 18, will be seen in two films with the effervescent Amy Adams in the coming year: Doubt, adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning stage play by John Patrick Shanley, and Julie and Julia, in which Streep plays the indomitable Julia Child to Adams’ food-blogging Queens housewife who cooks her way through Childs’ Mastering the Art of French Cooking. While they don’t share any scenes in the latter film, they act as kindred culinary spirits.

Asked if she had learned anything working with Streep, Adams doesn’t hesitate. “I learned that I will never be Meryl Streep,” she says in all sincerity.

Oscar-nominated actress Amy Adams is getting hitched.

Adams is engaged to her boyfriend of six years, actor Darren Le Gallo; the couple plan to marry sometime next year. Le Gallo proposed to Adams with a diamond by French jewelry designer Jean Dousset of Beverly Hills.

Adams and Legallo met in acting class. “It’s really important to have someone to remind you who you are,” she told USA Today in March. “I’ll run all over but come back to him, and I know who I am.”

Adams was nominated for an Academy Award for the 2005 movie Junebug. She’ll play a nun opposite Meryl Streep in Doubt, out in December.

The Spinal Tap star has joined the cast as Ivan the Terrible for the comedy adventure, officially titled Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.

Also joining the cast are Jon Bernthal (Al Capone), Bill Hader (Gen. George Armstrong Custer) and French actor Alain Chabat (Napoleon).

The film, directed by Shawn Levy, reunites lead Ben Stiller with castmates Robin Williams, Ricky Gervais and Owen Wilson.

Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon, who penned both Museum films, will make a cameo in the sequel, playing the Wright brothers.

Museum was a boxoffice success for Fox, grossing $574 million worldwide. With the Smithsonian as the centerpiece, the studio and Levy kicked the current production up a notch by getting the rare chance to film portions of the movie in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington.

The film is shooting in Vancouver, with a behind-the-scenes team that includes director of photography John Schwartzman (Pearl Harbor), editors Don Zimmerman and Dean Zimmerman (Rush Hour 3), production designer Claude Pare (The Aviator) and costume designer Marlene Stewart (Tropic Thunder).

The point of this project is for fans from all around the world to gather together and make a collective and creative effort to wish our favorite actress a happy birthday. We are going to put together a Birthday Project that consists of your letters, poetry, fan art and photographs inspired by Amy Adams; perhaps to give something back for all of the amazing films and entertainment that she has provided us throughout the years. The modern-day fairytale took home three awards: best fantasy film, best actress, which went to its star Amy Adams, and best music, which went to composer Alan Menken.

Amy Adams had filmed her film debut Drop Dead Gorgeous in Minnesota, where she was working on dinner theater. She made the move to Los Angeles to pursue acting on screen and landed the role of the fabulously evil Kathryn Merteuil in the TV series Manchester Prep. Unfortunately the show never fully took off and was later on released on DVD as Cruel Intentions 2.

I’ve added some very rare shots of Amy making appearances in the year 1999. On top of this, I’ve uploaded some lesser seen yearbook photos of her. Enjoy these vintage treats - I hope they’re new to you like they’re to me!

Production on the biggest movie to shoot here this summer is finally getting underway. The mega-budget Night at the Museum 2: Escape from the Smithsonian will be shooting here for the next three months, and will bring a plethora of stars to our city. Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Amy Adams, Dick Van Dyke, Hank Azaria and Ricky Gervais will all make appearances in the comedy sequel. The first movie was shot here a couple of years ago, and had one of the largest-ever budgets for a Vancouver-made movie.

Amy Adams is featured in Entertainment Weekly’s newest issue with The Rock on the cover. She joins a new generation of stars (James McAvoy, Shia LeBeouf, Ellen Page, etc.) praised by studio execs, producers, and agents to top the Next A-list.

Edit from Mycah: I have added the scans from the magazine. There is not a new photoshoot picture or anything, but it’s still really interesting to see who was chosen as the next top of the crop! Amy, and many of the others, are some of my other very favorites so I’m thrilled they are getting more recognition this way!
