Coming Soon has posted a few pictures of Jason Segel and Amy Adams filming scenes for The Muppets in front of the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Monday. I was able to find a few more, and added to the gallery. Check it:
The Fighter opened on four screens last Friday, wracking up an impressive $300K in three days. Just in case that news and the Oscar buzz isn’t enough to generate interest in the boxing biopic, the studio has released two new clips showcasing Amy Adams.
You can watch the clips under the cut tags:
“What an exciting morning for our film, especially when you consider what a terrific year it was for movies. Thanks to guys of Magazines for All, I added scans of January issue of Marie Claire. Since the scans are tagged, it will be up until I got hands on my own copy of this magazine (and since I live outside USA, it takes a while…) But at least you can see the gorgeous photoshoot, and read the great interview.
I did one interview when I was pregnant and the writer said he thought people would be surprised to know that I had sex. I didn’t know what to say, I was like ‘Excuse me if it takes a minute to process the fact that you think I’m assexual.’ Anyway there’s something great about the world thinking I’m so innocent. Only it’s not true. In my 20s, boy, I was a hot mess.
Of all the punches thrown in The Fighter — and it’s a boxing movie, so there are many — none is more memorable than the one Amy Adams smashes into another woman’s face. Turns out the 36-year-old Adams, best known for playing sweethearts, princesses, and nuns, has an entirely plausible, nasty right hook. Who knew? Well, no one, and that’s why the David O. Russell film, opening today and accruing Oscar buzz by the minute, comes at such a pivotal moment in Adams’s career. Fresh off the flop romantic comedy Leap Year, the two-time Oscar nominee had been settling into a rut — a well-regarded, Meryl Streep co-starring rut, but an always-cast-as-the-nice-girl rut nonetheless. In The Fighter, Adams plays Charlene, the tramp-stamped girlfriend of Mark Wahlberg’s boxer, and a tougher, sexier, more potty-mouthed character than she has played since breaking out in 2005’s Junebug. Will it be enough to alter perceptions of Adams’ “type”? Can the seemingly inevitable awards nominations move Adams further up the A-list? Or has the actress, at 36, gone as far as she can? We asked industry insiders these questions to answer our ever-nagging question: If Amy Adams were a stock, should you buy, sell, or hold? On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets‘ former stomping grounds.
To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino house band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.
With secret, signature, celebrity cameos, “The Muppets” hits the big screen Nov. 23, 2011.
