Amy to be Honored at Costume Designers Guild Awards

Variety is reporting that Amy will be honored next February 22 with the Spotlight Award at the annual Costume Designers Guild Awards.

Michael Wilkinson, who is nominated for a CDGA in the period film category, said in a clip of the film that working on “Hustle” was a costume designer’s “dream” and that “being presented with characters like this is the biggest gift.”

Gallery Update: SAG Awards

Ridiculously late, but here’s the first batch of pictures from last night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards. Amy was an Old Hollywood siren on the red carpet, wearing a blue Antonio Berardi dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, Salvatore Ferragamo clutch, and Cartier jewels.

The entire ensemble of the David O. Russell film won the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture award. American Hustle beat out 12 Years a Slave, Ausgust: Osage County, Dallas Buyers Club, and Lee Daniels’ The Butler for the big prize of the evening.

Amy Adams Wins Best Actress (Comedy) at the Critics Choice

Amy Adams won tonight at Critics Choice Awards as Best Actress (Comedy) for her work in American Hustle. The event is currently being held at Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, California.

The film also won for Best Ensemble, and Best Film (Comedy), and it didn’t finish yet. Check our first pictures up at the gallery, and come back tomorrow for more coverage!

Amy Adams Nominated for an Academy Award

Amy Adams has been nominated for Best Actress at this year’s Academy Awards, for her role in American Hustle. This is the 5th nomination Amy receive in 9 years. She’s joined in the category by Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep and Judy Dench.

“American Hustle” received 9 other nominations including Best Picture, Best Actor in Leading Role (Christian Bale), Best Actor in Supporting Role (Bradley Cooper) and Best Actress in Supporting Role (Jennifer Lawrence). ABC also released some nominees reaction and here is what Amy told:

“I’m very honored to be nominated alongside such inspiring actresses. Congratulations to the cast and crew of ‘American Hustle’ and ‘Her,’ two films that I’m incredibly proud to be a part of.” – Amy Adams, best actress nominee, “American Hustle”

The award ceremony will be held on March 2nd.

Gallery Update: 71st Annual Golden Globes

So, here’s the first batch of pictures from last night’s Golden Globe, that finally gave Amy a well deserved award for her work in American Hustle. The film was one of the big winners of the night, with Jennifer Lawrence winning as Best Supporting Actress and the film itself taking the Best Film – Comedy or Musical. Now let’s hope for more wins, and another nomination next Thursday when the Academy will announce the Oscar nominees.
